  • i) Resin Poor :-

    Product :-

    SmithTape - Glass Backed resin poor epoxy bonded Mica paper Tapes are made of special type of epoxy resin bonded with glass backed mica paper tape for resin poor / VPI class F insulation system. The mica paper is uncalcined muscovite grade with a special glass fabric backing bonded with a modified epoxy resin containing a special varnish and accelerator formulation. The epoxy binder used can be varied / modified as per the resin system of the VPI tank to ensure compatibility.

    Availability :-

    It is used for main insulation of stator coils / bars of electrical machines with VPI systems.

    Packing :-

    The tape is supplied in rolls of 50 meters and the outer diameter will not be more than 110 mm. Ten rolls are stacked and packed in moisture proof paper and polythene and subsequently packed in strong wooden boxes to avoid any type of damage in transit or during storage.

    SmithTherm offers SmithTape - Glass Mica Paper Silicon Tape,a semi-finished product in the form of glass mica paper silicone tape which is a dry, soft, impregnatable insulating tape made up of special aramid muscovite mica paper with a backing of high quality glass fabric lightly bonded with a high temperature modified resin.

    Availability :-

    It is mainly used for AC motor application.

    Product :-

    SmithTape ST - PGMP is polyester bonded glass and polyester film backed mica tape with alkyd varnish as the binder is a time tested tape for high-voltage generator insulation.

    Application :-

    It is used for insulation applications in hydro-generators and turbo-generators stator windings.

    Application :-

    It is used for the insulation of AC and DC machines etc.

    Finish :-

    The tapes are clean and with smooth surface by the binder uniformly and effectively adhered in the different layers. They shall be tightly rolled onto virgin plastic cores and facilitate easy peeling off.

    Product :-

    SmithTape Mica Glass Woven silicon Tape is a material which has exceptionally electrical and flexible properties even when subjected to prolonged high temperatures. It consists of an impregnated muscovite mica paper with a backing of high quality woven glass fabric bonded with modified silicone resin and most suited for thermal class C (220 °C) application.

    Application :-

    • Used in insulation of both armature and field coils of traction motors upto 220 �C where retained flexibility is necessary.

    • Used as thermal and electrical insulation on induction furnace coils upto the highest temperatures.

    • Used in high voltage machine and turbo generators upto 11 kV to produce flexible coil ends before and after installation together with Smitape� Mica Glass Woven silicon Tape in the slot portion.

    Packing :-

    It is supplied in either roll form (max. width 1000mm and length 100 mtrs) or in tape form (in widths of 15, 20 and 25mm and 50 mtr rolls) with an interleaving of moisture proof polythene. The rolls are then packed in strong wooden boxes to avoid any damage during transit or during storage.

    Product :-

    It is a combination of a flexible muscovite calcined mica paper and glass fabric thoroughly impregnated with a high electrical grade modified epoxy resin and most suited for class F insulation (upto 155 °C) and supplied in either folium or tape form.

    Application :-

    Remicatherm is used for insulation of conductors and stator coils and bars of medium and high voltage motors and generators and main and interpole coils of DC traction motors. Besides this, Smitape�- Glass epoxy mica tape is also widely used in conductor and main wall insulation of high and ultra high voltage generators where excellent resistance to corona is required.
